Men on a Mission of Christ Temple of Worship

Mission Statement

The Men's Ministry of Christ Temple of Worship also known as Men on a Mission, is committed to connecting men to God, His Word, and other men for the purpose of winning, growing and training God’s man in Christ. By our programs that have strong leadership and a clear mission from Bishop Oscar Maloba, we aim to:

Love, worship and glorify God individually and collectively

Enjoy fellowship with Christian brothers

Become and remain the priest of their homes

Lead their families according to the Good News of Jesus Christ

Instruct their children on the ways of God so when they grow The Word does not depart from them.

Get actively involved and committed in the church

Utilize their God-given gifts and be vision helpers to one another

Establish and maintain good work ethics

To experience and live the Blessing of God over our lives.

Men on a Mission seeks to give men the guidance and help they need in order to become what God has called them to be as men in the Church, home and at work. We seek to empower the men in the ministry and in our community to be good fathers, husbands and sons in a society that tells and teaches them otherwise. We believe that it is important that men understand that Church is not just for their wives and mothers but that God has called them too to be a part of the body of Christ. The men of Christ Temple of Worship are on a mission to strengthen each other in their faith, emphasizing important Biblical principles such as personal integrity, Christian character, relationships, marriage, sex, fatherhood, financial management, leadership qualities and so forth.

The men’s ministry brings men together, married and single, from all backgrounds and beliefs to share The Word and build each other up spiritually. The aim is to teach men the principles of the Word of God so that they can be equipped to face life challenges, and lead with the strength and wisdom that God has given through His word. We aim to emulate The Word as written in Proverbs 27:17 stating that “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend (KJV). By sharpening one another with The Word of Jesus Christ, we aim to facilitate a more active association among the men of the Body of Christ, enabling them to be true servant leaders in the family, church, workplace and community. We encourage fellow brothers to live The Scripture of Hebrews 10:25 that we must “not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching". We gather to actively discuss the issues affecting the man in the real world. We believe sharing our individual experiences creates a supportive structure for men. ‘Men on a Mission’ meet on a fortnightly basis, to share understanding and faith in order to lead others into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8; 1 Peter 3:15; Matthew 28:18-20). We ultimately aim to develop godly character, and to equip them to influence their world for Christ. Men's activities are organized and coordinated for the purpose of fun and fellowship, such as the events below.

Feeding the Flock: Annual retreat, Bible study and conferences; Prayer breakfasts and discussions on business ideas based on Godly principles, BBQs, and movie nights on topical issues; this provides an opportunity to learn more of the word of God, and to share in the gospel of Christ.

Intercession Prayer: As men we gather together to stand in the gap for the ministry, the land and our families as well as one another.

Outreach/Service Oriented Projects: Security patrol of church car parks, seasonal opportunities - maintenance of grounds and car park, spring cleanup, snow shoveling.

Praise and Worship: The Men’s Choir gives the men a blessed opportunity to gather as men to worship the Creator of all things, the One who has redeemed us from our sins. The men's choir performs during Sunday morning services.

Armour bearers: standing with the Man of God during services.

Ongoing Accountability and Growth Opportunities: Issues such as sexual health are organized.

The activities of Men on a Mission are not limited to members of Christ Temple of Worship, but our fellowship of men is open to all men across the local community in Leeds. We emulate Christ by making disciples of all men in our locality.
